Websites and apps

Hello!
Monday night was our Math, Science, and Engineering Night at Fork Shoals. Special Ed teachers Mrs. Michelle Camden and Ms. Cam McDade and myself presented information about the different websites and apps available to students to help them with different subjects and skills. Syllabus Change

Good morning!!
Due to MAP testing in March, the computer lab syllabus will change. During the month of March, students in grades 2-5 will focus on reviewing Math and Reading using Compass Learning and Prepdog.org. Students in K5 will use ABCMouse.com, Starfall, and Splash Math to review skills learned in the first part of the year. Students in 1st grade will use First in Math and Compass Learning to review skills learned in the first part of the year. 
We will work with email as time permits. 

In April, students will work with MS Word, Powerpoint, Google slides and docs, Paint, and we will continue to practice keyboarding. Students in grades 4-5 will do a small research project. 

In May, students in 1st-5th grade will work in First in Math and Compass Learning. K5 will continue with ABCMouse, Splash Math, and Starfall.

Cards for Kids

Students in grades 1-5 participated in Cards for Kids last week. Students made Valentine's Cards for children at the Children's Hospital in Greenville. Cards were delivered to Magic 98.9 radio station who headed up the program and delivered the cards to the children.
















Email

This week in computer lab students in 3rd-5th grade will practice using their student email. We will discuss how to access the student email and the proper way to use email. Students can access their email at home, as well. Student email is accessed through Google. 
Please talk to your child about proper email etiquette as well as being safe while using email. We will discuss proper email usage as well as email safety but this is something you should discuss with your child, as well. Please remind them that while their name is on the account, the school and school district can access the email at any time. And school email is for school use,
